5k Hit Gift by heliumgirl77 5k Hit Gift by heliumgirl77
Here's a little something I wibbled to celebrate going over 5k hits. Well, actually, I went over the line some time ago, so this is a bit of a belated celebration as well as a chance to try out my new scanner.

Please be gentle! I don't feel like I should really be trying art when there are sooooo many better people in the inflation community, but I wanted to say "thank you" to all the people here who have been so supportive of my little scribblings over the past year.

The inspiration for this one came from those large inflatable display signs; maybe a certain silly girl has snuck one home with her? And what does she do then but ignore the very sensible warnings printed on the side? Especially the one about helium.

Haha, very cool! Love the idea of filling up a huge balloon with helium and then riding into the sky!

Professionals only! These big beasties can be quite tricky...you have to get on top and bounce them hard to show who is boss :-P

Even though it's nearly five years ago when you published this image it popped into my eyes when I saw it. So I read your own comment on your picture and I feel the urge to write the following:

Do not underestimate your own abilities! This is an AWESOME picture! You can draw: Shading, transparency, coloring ... it's all there. Moreover: Drawing a transparent object is a hell of work. Most important: Your image tells a story and expresses a feeling. That's more than most of so called »artists« are doing. So keep going, you are clearly on the right track.

Thank you...that's very encouraging. I wish I was more confident in drawing; I'm painfully aware of how much I need to learn in basic technique, and Deviantart is a daunting environment with so many visual talents out there. To be honest narrative speaks to me more clearly than visuals, so there's always got to be a story to go with the picture, or embedded within it...but that's just me!

This piece of work seems a very long time back; never dreamt this account would grow like it did; I might have to come up with a 50k about now! But finding the time is always difficult when I'm in a household where writing is somewhat easier than drawing..."Look; Mummy is drawing smuttiness!"...lol!

Is it really »daunting« when looking at other artist's work? Or is furthermore encouraging that things actually can be done? For me it's more the second thing. Yes, of course, I feel myself healthy in the CGI domain not in drawing. But other pictures also drive my phantasy to idea what I can do also. So don't be scared ... the frescos in the Sistine Chapel hasn't been painted by good old Michael in one day. And if he were scared he probably never started.

About »smuttiness«: Well, I wouldn't put this image by far not in that corner. It's a funny dream image which is of course looks erotic for balloon lovers. But I agree writing is somewhat easier than drawing. When I fire up my »Poser« and »modo« software I also like to be on my own. Nevertheless crossing fingers for your efforts.

Oh, would it OK if I borrow your idea for a picture in my own style? Not now but in the near future?

You know, I would love to see some of her stories illustrated by you......your render work is wonderful, and I think her stories would look great in illustrated format.....

Obviously, if both of you agreed.....and it would take a long time, obviously.....even the short stories have so much detail......

Thank you very much for your kind words. Always good to know my work catches some attraction. As an »artist« I of course like to get comments on my pictures.

I do like many and and even more love some of the stories heliumgirl77 did. Illustration sounds nice. The only thing is: I do have so many, many, MANY projects on my own ... and I am operating a site with my »special theme« where I can be more free in what to do and where I also like to - or better say I am »urged to« by my own imagination - continue the comics posted there. This is even more work. And I have of course a non-fetish life with sometimes boring work which secures my income. So I would love to collaborate ... *sigh* ... but so many things to do.

But this picture of heliumgirl77 is already in my head. So stay tuned ... and it's very good to know at least one fan has the same ideas like me. So, maybe ... one day ... :)
